Course Overview

General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Lateral Entry is a direct-admission pathway designed for registered auxiliary nursing professionals (ANM or FMPHW). Eligible candidates bypass the first year of GNM study and join directly in the 2nd year, allowing them to upgrade their nursing credential to general nursing level in just 2 years.

Our courses combine extensive clinical training with community health settings and advanced surgical-medical simulations. This helps students gain the qualification required for senior nursing posts in major hospitals.

🎓 Eligibility Criteria

  • Registered ANM or FMPHW Certificate with passing marks.
  • Registration with Jammu & Kashmir Nursing Council (JKNC) or other state council is mandatory.
  • No minimum age restriction for candidates who are already registered nursing workers.

  • Clinical Lab & Kit Fee (One-Time): ₹5,000

First Year of Lateral Program (GNM 2nd Year)

Focuses on core medical disorders, pediatric care methodologies, and diagnostic laboratory training.

Subjects: Medical-Surgical Nursing, Pharmacology, Mental Health & Psychiatric Nursing, Child Health Nursing (Pediatrics).

Second Year of Lateral Program (GNM 3rd Year)

Covers obstetrical nursing, maternal care coordination, public health systems, and research methodology.

Subjects: Midwifery & Gynecology, Community Health Nursing, Ward Management, Nursing Research & Statistics.
